Identifying causes of delay under JCT contract

Our Brief

We were engaged by the Main Contractor to identify causes of delay under the JCT contract. We were also asked to determine entitlement to defend against the application of liquidated damages.

The Services

We were asked to provide a site-based planner who could work with the Project Manager to build the as-built programme and identify entitlement.

The Benefit

Our provision of an experienced planner helped the client identify causes of delay for which the Employer and Contractor were culpable. This developed into a programme to defend against the application of liquidated damages which the Employer was intending to raise against the Contractor.
